Kate Fitzwater, DVM, MS, DACVS-SA
VSx Indianapolis Surgeon
Kate Fitzwater has over 12 years of experience practicing as a boarded surgeon. Growing up on the east side of Indianapolis, Dr. Fitzwater always wanted to be a veterinarian. Her first job was at a local veterinary hospital where she worked until she attended undergraduate at Purdue University. After veterinary school at Purdue, her rotating internship at North Carolina State University provoked an even stronger desire to specialize in surgery while she worked closely with their canine rehabilitation program. After completing her small animal surgical residency and Master's degree at The Ohio State University she returned to her hometown of Indianapolis. Dr. Fitzwater loves to teach and share her surgical knowledge and is excited to develop more professional relationships with the referring community. She is committed to providing compassionate care to patients and their owners during the surgical and postoperative healing process. She is married to Luke and they have two children. After living in India as missionaries for a few years, they now live on a farm with multiple animals in Greenfield, Indiana.
