Dr. Alexander Piazza
DVM, DACVS-SA
Dr. Piazza joined the VSx Veterinary Surgery team in late 2025 after having spent the preceding six years working at one of Wisconsin’s largest referral centers. Dr. Piazza has a passion for orthopedics and is highly skilled at neurosurgical, soft tissue, and emergency/trauma surgeries. Dr. Piazza’s special interests include minimally invasive surgery (arthroscopy, laparoscopy) and limb deformity correction.
Originally from the Metro Detroit region of Michigan, Dr. Piazza grew-up living internationally and traveling abroad. He attended Michigan State University for undergraduate and veterinary medical school. After veterinary school, Dr. Piazza completed a rotating internship with Ohio State University, then a surgical internship with Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Florida. In 2016, Dr. Piazza completed an Orthopedic Research Fellowship with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Piazza completed his surgery residency at University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019 and then became a staff surgeon at Fox Valley Animal Referral Center in Appleton, Wisconsin. Dr. Piazza has been a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons since February 2020.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Piazza enjoys running, biking, and cooking for his wife and their two kids.
